Mum
I swept past her, my dance bag draped around my shoulder. She was surrounded by little four years dressed in tutus. I remember those days. When dance was just about having fun. Now it’s about your skill, strength, and balance. I wish I could go back, for even just one day. To feel the bounce and hear the laughter. Just one day.
“Romey! Come over here and help me!” Mum laughed and I dashed over to the counter, dropped my bag and entered the sea of tutus. Mum clapped her hands and they settled. It was really interesting to be on the outside of the lesson. I had helped Mum out millions of times with her lessons. But this time was different. It strung a different chord.
My Mum is an amazing dance teacher. She is balanced, strong, and very skilled. She’s more than just a great dancer though, she’s an amazing Mum. She got accepted into the Royal School Of Ballet at age 12. She was the youngest company dancer at age 23 and now she teaches. Mum was and will always be my inspiration, my passion to dance. My drive to succeed.
