Birthday Cake

As most of you already know, Cade's birthday was the other day. To celebrate we made a delicious two layered vanilla cake with homemade whipped cream frosting, topped with fresh strawberries. Here is the recipe incase you want to try to make it yourself.

What You Need:

-1 bag of vanilla cake mix

-4 eggs

-1/2 cup of coconut oil

-1 pint heavy cream

-1 cup sifted icing sugar

-1 teaspoon vanilla

-2 boxes of strawberries

-2 bowls - 1 chilled

Making The Cake:

-put the bag of vanilla cake mix in a bowl

-crack the eggs into the bowl

-measure and pour the coconut oil in the bowl

-mix all ingredients

-pour the batter into two separate cake tins

-put the cake tins in the oven for forty minutes

-when done take cakes out and let them cool 

Making The Frosting:

-take the chilled bowl out of the fridge

-sift and pour one cup of icing sugar into the bowl

-measure and pour one teaspoon of vanilla into the bowl

-mix all ingredients

-put the bowl back in the fridge to cool

Last Touches:

-wash and cut the strawberries

-pop the cakes out of the tins and place them on a cake plate 

-take the frosting out of the fridge and frost the top of the first cake

-place the strawberries in a spiral circle on the frosting

-place the second cake over the first

-frost the top of the second cake

-lay the strawberries on the top of the frosting

-place one whole strawberry in the middle

-enjoy!
